chickenfoot widget

so a week ago i spent the day with the guys in chickenfoot and they were very accomodating in my request to have them say "chickenfoot" a hundreds times each as part of the first phase announcement of the band to the world. these guys each have a huge history bringing the rAWK but they are also really fun folks to be around and we had a blast. so, what's the point?

well, if you take a look over at http://chickenfoot.us/ you will see the embeddable widget on the page (props to Jon@PROD for his always amazing quick flash work). sure, it's just a widget like you've seen everywhere, but as the weeks unfold you will be seeing new content show up in the widget automatically and eventually it will turn into a source about contests as well as tour tickets and other video and music that the band produces. in effect, the goal is to get everyone to embed this thing and then we can program new multimedia out to a legion of fans worldwide with the click of a button. when it's on your own home page, you don't have to remember to visit the site or check your RSS feed-- just notice the new content and then click through if you want more info.

this is how it should be. the band's site is a central hub and spokes reach out to all interested parties worldwide.

the next step is pulling the content back *in* from the world.

Chickenfoot 'Widget'

I can't get it to embed on my MySpace profile..
I copied and pasted the code from the 'widget' itself and MySpace changes it to display ONLY the link to the Chickenfoot website.
Here's the code it changes it to:
(I took out all of the < and > signs so the code doesn't change to a link again (as it did that in my preview of this post) and you can see what it looks like when MySpace changes it.... Weird.)

Not sure what's going on, but I can't get it to work to save my life...

Any help making it work would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

myspace and the cf widget

hi mr. anonymous--- there are two problems. 1) yes, myspace does some real odd rewriting of embed codes and changes them all into tags and also tends to strip out some flashvar params. but, it generally should still work. 2) there was a missing '/' in the movie path which was fixed shortly after. the broken path was also updated to work at the same time. hopefully you've seen this all work ok by now :}
